Preset Model Types
Numerous aircraft configurations are already programmed into the 14MZ -- seven wing types and three tail types. Thats a good example of the many built-in "shortcuts" that make this radio so easy to use. Just select the set-up you need!
|
Servo Grouping
With the 14MZ, you can group multiple servos that control a single function onto one transmitter operation -- but plug the servos themselves into different individually adjustable receiver channels (even non-consecutively) without needing a separate servo synchronizer for mixing.
|
Compact Flash Card Data Storage & Transfer
Increase memory to 100 models. Upload digital images of your aircraft for use as model names on the graphic display menu. Create and store audio files -- so you can fly to music or flight call sequences. The included, 32MB Compact Flash memory card makes it easy to upgrade as improved software becomes available.
|
Audio Recording & Playback
Use the built-in mic to record and store up to 24 voice prompts -- like "Landing gear down!" and "Full throttle!" Assign them to specific switches and functions. Then, through the built-in speaker or included earphones, youll hear audio confirmations of proper stick movement.
|
Switch Customizing
Reconfigure the eight 14MZ shoulder switches to your own preference. Just pull out a switch to remove it, and plug in the style you prefer -- tall or short, button or toggle, spring-loaded or positionable.
|
Stick Customizing
A tension adjustment lets you tailor stick "feel" to your own touch. Dual ball bearings on each axis and a long-life potentiometer ensure smooth, precise control. |

Beyond comparisons
|
The Futaba 14MZ is in a class by itself, it doesnt just put a new face on old technology. Examining this system is like exploring a new world, with amazing discoveries at every turn. Here are just a handful of 14MZ "firsts".
- DUAL internal processors for flawless reliability.
- PCM G3 2048 resolution for unprecedented speed and precision.
- A uniquely easy-to-use, full color, touch screen display.
Incorporate your own audio and picture files into your radios programming. Customize not only the job that switches perform, but also switch locations. Use the included Compact Flash card to expand on functions -- turn the built-in 30 model memory into memory for one hundred!
For ANYTHING you may someday want to do, the 14MZ is ready now—complete with a powerful, 2200mAh Lithium-Ion transmitter battery and software for airplanes, helicopters and gliders.
Dual Internal Processors
The 14MZ takes advantage of two separate internal processors for maximum efficiency and reliability. A custom Futaba processor expertly directs all functions dedicated to flight control. Input for general operating tasks -- such as set-up and programming -- is processed by Windows CE. |
Real-Time Response!
Double the resolution of PCM 1024, the 14MZs breakthrough PCM G3 2048 enables servos to pick up even the slightest stick movements. Its enhanced by a frame rate thats 40% faster than Futabas 9Z -- much more data transmits in a much shorter time. The result? Real-Time Response response so good, it feels like its happening in real time!
Note: The 14MZ can also transmit in 1024 PCM and FM/PPM.

Full-Color Touch Screen
Only one company in the world could make the 14MZ display its an engineering triumph in itself. The HVGA screen features crystal-clear 640x240 pixel resolution. It uses transflective technology (layered transparent and reflecting surfaces) plus adjustable backlighting and contrast for easy visibility, even in direct sunlight. Navigate through menus and make selections by touching the screen -- or use the Dial-N-Key button to scroll and select. |

R5114DPS Receiver
Thanks to state-of-the-art Ball Grid Array (BGA) layered PC board technology, the 14 MZ’s R5114DPS 14-channel synthesized receiver is very small — just 2 x 1.48 x .64 inches! You’ll appreciate how easy its WFSS (Wireless Frequency Setting System) makes changing frequencies in busy airfields. You can do it right from the transmitter, without changing crystals! |
